You’ll Own Nothing and You Will Be Happy

When Everything and Everyone Belongs to Everything and Everyone The Garrett Ashley Mullet Show

An article was recently sent to me by a friend in Montana titled ‘Welcome To 2030: I Own Nothing, Have No Privacy And Life Has Never Been Better.’ Published by Forbes in 2016, written by Ida Auken on behalf of the World Economic Forum, the first-person narrative explains what it’s like living in a city where we own nothing and are happy.

Everything is free, and so is everyone. And, no, you do not have any privacy. Every move is tracked and analyzed. So hopefully no one abuses your private information or uses it against you. But never mind that pesky business. A bike ride will clear your mind.

One could be forgiven for wondering whether the bright folks trying to govern the world toward this have ever read either science fiction or history. But there I go again, asking ignorant questions about matters I couldn’t possibly understand.

This is for our own good that we will own nothing, surely. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

Now where have I heard that before?

Rousseau, Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro – once more with feeling. Surely it’ll work this time.

Speaking of feelings, what is the difference between nothing belonging to anyone and no one belonging to anyone?

Could there be a connection between the drive to abolishing private property on the one hand and trends in recent years away from getting married and having children on the other?

Even for those who have children, could efforts in the macro to erode parental rights where children are concerned – with regards to their education especially – also be part of this larger move toward global communism?

Mother and father, husband and wife. Bah! We need equality.

Communism is what to call this, by the way. That is what it is when nothing belongs to anyone and everything belongs to everyone.

The back-end necessity in such a system, whatever euphemisms you prefer, is that the State controls the means of production and distribution, centrally monitoring and planning everything. But then you have no rights, unless such are considered acceptable and beneficial to the community.

Gee, that sounds an awful lot like how the COVID emergencies of recent years worked.

Who serves as primary arbiter of what the community will accept and benefit from? The same kind of bureaucratic middleman commissars, soviets, and political officers who have in every other communist state the last hundred years. They speak for the people and execute the will of the people.

Disagree with them? No, you are disagreeing with the people. And that is verboten. Perhaps the needs of the many require that you disappear, or have your rations cut, or have your social credit score decreased in a way that conserves less tangible resources for those who are more deserving and compliant.

You will own nothing and you will be happy – or else.

And all those concerns about privacy and how yours ceasing to exist might be damaging to you? Why, we’ll just question right back whether you have something to hide. Maybe you are not so innocent and that is why you want privacy. Perhaps a little digging is in order, then a little doxing.

See, that’s what happens when you live in a State of constant surveillance. Miranda rights? Never heard of her.

You have the right to remain silent, and to do nothing. Just understand that anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of Law – or a court of public opinion, whichever comes first.

Of course, saving humanity in this way is curing disease by killing patients. The solution to some people owning more than others is just to have everyone own nothing.

Everyone being equally miserable? That’s fine. Just so long as we’re all equal. That’s all that matters. That’s all we care about because that’s all that will make some people happy.
