Andrew Tate’s Grandmother, Elon Musk and Ukraine, and ‘None Dare Call It Conspiracy’

Andrew Tate’s Grandmother, Elon Musk and Ukraine, and ‘None Dare Call It Conspiracy’ The Garrett Ashley Mullet Show

Our Biblical Training Group met again Friday night to go through the second lecture in our course, ‘A Guide to Christian Theology’ with Gary Breshears. The topic was General Revelation, and something Breshears said about Psalm 19 really stood out to me, where there is a transition from the generic term for God used at the beginning – ‘Elohim’ – to the specific name of God – ‘Yahweh’ – beginning in verse 7. This accompanies the subject shifting from general to special revelation, and from what Creation tells us about God in the abstract to what Scripture tells us about God in the specifics.

I think this is a helpful way for us to frame how we relate to God, as well as the way we talk about God with one another. Yes, wicked men have suppressed the truth because their deeds are dark; but they can’t suppress all of the truth, or else they would die. So don’t cast your pearls before swine, or give to dogs what is holy. But do draw on connection points, and correct error in yourself and others, with gentleness and respect, by working from the general revelation of God to the special revelation found in the Bible.

But speaking of generals and specifics, and God’s common grace to all of us, I love the setup and delivery in a recent YouTube short I watched of Andrew Tate talking about his grandmother’s 93rd birthday. Particularly poignant are the cutaways to the beautiful young woman in the red dress sitting beside Tate, who seems deep in thought about what he has to say, like she’s re-evaluating her priorities.

As Carl Trueman points out in ‘Strange New World,’ young women whose taste in fashion seems rebellious toward previous generations, or contrary to what their parents or grandparents would approve of or dress like, are nevertheless seeking acceptance in a group or family. Only the group they now desire acceptance into, though it used to be the family in times past, is their peers. What is considered fashionable in their generation, particularly their clique? That is what they want to wear so as to be welcomed in to find purpose and belonging.

How should this relate to what God’s Word tells us about the role of our church and family, as well as our responsibilities to the same? And how should our vision of “the good life” be informed by this?

Lord willing, in my view, that vision should have short, medium, and long-term goals that have to do with multi-generational faithfulness. So I think Andrew Tate’s grandmother was onto something. And props to him for honoring her, as well as doing a service to his own generation by setting such an example in praising her.

But while we’re on the topic of faithfulness, and gratitude, and examples, the Ukrainian ambassador recently took to Twitter to tell Elon Musk where he can go for suggesting openly a way to bring peace between Russia and Ukraine before we all find ourselves in WWIII.

Is the honorable gentleman from Ukraine unfamiliar with the saying “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you”? Perhaps he is playing to it. Either way, Elon Musk followed up by asking the Pentagon to pay for the donated Starlink service for the embattled blue and yellow, saying that his company SpaceX cannot continue providing it for free. Besides that, Musk might just take the Ukrainian ambassador’s advice.

Lastly, in other news, I started reading ‘None Dare Call It Conspiracy’ the other day. This work by Gary Allen, with Larry Abraham, published in 1971, is arguably the comprehensive and penultimate conspiracy theory. This is the conspiracy theory to end all conspiracy theories, or else to tie them all together.

The premise of the work sets up the conclusions drawn by telling us there are principally two ways to survey history. First, there is the accidental, wherein things just happen and we all must react. Second, there is the conspiratorial, wherein someone or something is making strategic decisions behind the scenes to set in motion what the majority of us react to, even as those setting these things in motion are the principal actors.

One of the major hinge-points is the conclusion itself, that if international banking interests have consistently funded global communism, and if they presumably don’t fear the spread of communism, that is because they control communism, like a piece on a chessboard.

But how does Ephesians 6:12 relate to all of this? There Paul says we do indeed wrestle against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Perhaps these are them, or their representatives, in our day.

I think it’s at least worth considering.
