Shaking Hands and Ki**ing Babies

Shaking Hands and Kissing Babies The Garrett Ashley Mullet Show

Imagine yourself a contestant on Wheel of Fortune, where you and two others are solving word puzzles to win $10,000. I’m playing the part of Pat Sajak, and I read the clue for you as ‘Democrats.’

You and your fellows each take turns buying an H, A, K, I, N, G, and B. So the puzzle is most of the way solved as follows.

“_HAKING HAND_ AND KI__ING BABIE_”

Now it’s your turn, and you’re going to solve. You shout out your answer.

“SHAKING HANDS AND KISSING BABIES!”

You’ve won! The audience can see it in the smile on your face, and your family and friends are overjoyed. Everyone claps and cheers. Think of all the things you are going to spend those winnings on.

But not so fast.

I purse my lips and wince and slowly begin to shake my head.

“I’m sorry, that’s not the right answer,” I say.

Then you remember that the clue was ‘Democrats.’

The Christian’s Shorter Guide to Abortion

While we’re on the subject of infanticide and the way in which the Democrat National Committee party platform loves it and lies about it, here’s an interesting link from Princeton University with a list of academic quotes demonstrating how biologists assert that human life begins at fertilization.

You might keep that one handy just in case you’re ever either nominated for a seat on the United States Supreme Court, or else sitting on our Senate’s Committee on the Judiciary.

It’s important to note a few things Biblically here for the Christians out there.

First, “hands that shed innocent blood” makes it to the short list of things God says He hates and which are an abomination to Him.

Second, it is not just those who do the deed who are complicit; those who approve and affirm wrongdoing also bear guilt.

Third, the Bible speaks to when human life begins when the Psalmist writes that the Lord “formed my inmost being; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”

Fourth, murder makes it to the short list of things God expressly prohibits – murder being here defined as not just killing in general, but unjust killing of an innocent. And people don’t get any more innocent than before they’re even born.

Fifth, neutrality is not possible Biblically, and we are positively commanded in Proverbs to “rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.”

The bad news for those out of step with any or all of the above list is that there is a God in Heaven who is Holy and Righteous who not only sees the iniquity of man but promises to avenge Himself against it.

But the good news for those under judgment is that this same God sent His only begotten Son to live a sinless life and die in our place, paying the penalty of death for our sin against God, and the free gift of salvation is open to all who confess their sins, repent, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

This means there is forgiveness for those who believe, confess, and repent. But that last bit means literally turning away from our sin. And if that’s not happening, or if we claim to be without sin, we are not under grace but under judgment still.

This, in short, is why I could never vote for a Democrat, and you shouldn’t either.
